This volume will consider positions in which Black plays with an early ...d7-d5, and so the "start position" for Part One is 1.d4 d5 2.c4. With many chapters and a thorough analysis, I show how to fight for the advantage from positions in which Black adopts the classical ...d7-d5 setup.

The bulk of this 39 chapter volume considers how to tackle the Queen’s Gambit Accepted, Queen’s Gambit Declined, and Slav Defense. In addition I examine the Triangle system, 2...c5, Tarrasch Defense, Henning-Shara Gambit, Baltic Defense, Tschigorin's Defense, and Albin Counter-Gambit.

GM Nick Pert is a chess Grandmaster from England who has regularly played for the England team in Olympiads and European Team Championships. He is a former World U18 chess champion and is the current National Head Coach of the English Chess Federation.
